The wrapskirt is woven in a step loom with industrialized acrylic cotton. The wrapskirt consists of two woven pieces of textile. At the point where both pieces meet, a band has been embroidered by hand. In the end the wrapskirt contains two bands. In an embroidery, the extra threads are added after weaving, when the fabric is finished.A wraparound skirt is only used by women to cover the lower part of the body (hips, legs). In terms of function, it is similar to the skirt. A wraparound skirt is a square or rectangular piece of textile that is rolled around the body. This wraparound skirt is intended for everyday use. The background color is blue and the bands are embroidered in different colors. \Sumpango is located in the department of Sacatepéquez. In 2007, Sumpango had a population of 33,437, of which 30,516 belong to the Kaqchikel culture.
