The wrapskirt (corte or morga in Spanish) is woven in a step loom with industrialized cotton and acrylic cotton (bands). The wrapskirt consists of two woven pieces of textile. Where these pieces meet, a band is embroidered by hand. An embroidery is a decorative technique in which additional threads are added to the fabric after the weaving process is complete. \A wrap skirt is only used by women to cover the lower part of the body (hips, legs). In terms of function, it is similar to the skirt. A wraparound skirt is a square or rectangular piece of textile that is wrapped around the body. This wraparound skirt is intended for daily use by an adult woman.‖ The background color of the wraparound skirt is dark blue. The wraparound skirt is decorated with two bands embroidered in purple, green and blue.‖ Santa María de Jesús is located in the department of Sacatepéquez. In 2007, Santa María de Jesús had a population of 15,764, of which 15,621 belong to the Kaqchikel culture.‖ The inhabitants of this place are descendants of the K'iche' culture, from Quetzaltenango. From 1540 onwards, several chroniclers write about this place, which was officially founded in the XVI century, and was then known as ÒPueblo ChiquitoÓ. (small village). \From the beginning, people referred to this place by the name \El Aserradero,\or the sawmill, due to the large amount of trees cut down for the local need for wood and for the lumber trade. \Today, the main form of income is agriculture.
