The wrapskirt (corte or morga in Spanish) is woven with cotton in a step loom. The skirt consists of two pieces of woven fabric. Where these pieces meet, a band is embroidered by hand. An embroidery is a decorative technique in which additional threads are added to the fabric after the weaving process is complete. \A wrap skirt is only used by women to cover the lower part of the body (hips, legs). In terms of function, it is similar to the skirt. A wraparound skirt is a square or rectangular piece of textile that is wrapped around the body. This wraparound skirt is intended for both daily and ceremonial use by an adult woman.‖ The background color of the wraparound skirt is blue. The band is embroidered is different colors.‖ Santa María Chiquimula is located in the department of Totonicapán. In 2007, Santa María Chiquimula had a population of 42,372, of which 42,214 belong to the K´iche´ culture.
