Huipil woven from commercial (i.e. not hand-spun) cotton. By alternating squares of basic and gauze fabric a chessboard pattern is created. The neckline is cut from the fabric and finished with embroidery in the colors red, blue (cotton) and pink and green (wool) forming triangles and diamonds. Breastpart decorated with embroidery: pear flanked by two birds, underneath a wavy tendril motive. The sides are put together in the 'randa' technique. The use of two narrow red strips with randa work on the front suggests a garment that is formed from three strips.
