Material: light blue and dark blue cotton, embroidery of yellow and red cotton. \Technique: simply woven on a hip loom.‖ Particularly small servilleta with interwoven horizontal dark blue stripes. Nine small figures are embroidered on the light blue stripes (white cotton dyed with indigo). One edge has a fringe of 2 cm warp threads.Ó The Zoque use hand-woven fabrics for many different purposes. Food items are covered with cloth to protect them from the sun and pests, and tortillas were wrapped in cloth to keep them warm. In addition, folded textiles are placed on the head to protect the wearer from the sun and, for example, statues of saints are also wrapped in cloths. The most beautiful cloths are used to carry the images of saints to church.
