Red cotton blouse or huipil, decorated with large embroidered flowers, presumably inspired by imported shawls (Cordry, 1968:278).The huipil is worn with a skirt (5075-314) and a huipil grande (5075-316).The cities of Tehuantepec and Juchitan were long influential in the fashions of their surroundings, as far away as Oaxaca. Tehuanas sell at festivals and markets far beyond their own areas.
