The cloth (servilleta in Spanish) is woven with cotton in a hip loom. The background color of the cloth is white. This is striped along the entire length. There are also geometric motifs in different colors in both embroidery and brocades. An embroidery is a decorative technique in which extra threads are added to the fabric after weaving. With a brocade, this is done during the weaving process. \Rabinal is located in the department of Baja Verapaz. In 2007, Rabinal had a population of 33,639, of which 27,522 belonged to the Achí culture.
