The wrapskirt (corte or morga in Spanish) is woven with cotton in a step loom. A wrapskirt is only used by women to cover the lower part of the body (hips, legs). In terms of function, it is similar to the skirt. A wraparound skirt is a square or rectangular piece of textile that is wrapped around the body. \This dark blue wraparound skirt consists of 2 woven strips, which are embroidered together. This embroidery is thick and wide embroidered on the fabric in a variety of soft colors of silk. Embroidery is a decorative technique where extra threads are added to the fabric after weaving. \Some warp threads are of light blue, causing thin light blue stripes to run lengthwise.Purchased for Q15, -Santa María de Jesús is located in the department of Sacatepéquez.
