This cotton cloth consists of two diagonal sections, a plain yellow half and an embroidered red half. The black, white or yellow embroidery of floral and sun and turtle motifs also occurs on a rare cloth and on tree bark elsewhere in Halmahera.‖ The red and yellow cloth is worn in three different places and ways during the harvest ritual, depending on the gender and status of the wearer. The red half is in front, but a border of the yellow half should be visible:‖ The cloth is used as a headscarf of unmarried men (tuala geritoroa).‖ Young men wear this headscarf with the red, embroidered part on top and a border of yellow visible, with the knot on top of the head during the harvest ritual.
