Small tablecloth woven from hand-spun white cotton in alternating linen weave, lancé and gauze weave, creating a structural pattern of transverse stripes in the all-white fabric.‖ ‖ ‖ ‖ All white textile. Structural patterning: four different techniques used to give textural variation. Cross stripes of plain weave plus weft brocading (approx. 2 cm wide) alternate with cross stripes of all-over plain gauze (2.25 cm wide) - five of the former and four of the latter produce a 16-19 cm wide patterned weave, which is partly lace-like and partly solid and corded.
