The robe is slightly flared at the bottom. The traditional Balti men's clothing consists of four parts: the cap, a robe, wide trousers and a pair of half high boots. All parts are made of white, woven wool. Until recently, wool was the only product from which clothing was made. nowadays used with a lot of cotton.‖ Wool processing. Sheep wool goes through a number of stages after the sheep are sheared and before it is suitable to be processed by a weaver. First of all, the wool is cleaned by the women by mixing it with sand, then they beat this mixture with sticks. The cleaned wool is then carded, which is also done by women. The wool is then ready to be spun. Sheep wool is spun by women; yak and goat hair by men. After the wool has been twined, usually an activity of the men, the wool is ready to be woven. Weaving is usually done by specialized weavers. Woven fabrics are used for making robes, wraps, hats and footwear.
