The jacket is worn by men over other clothing as an overgarment (according to information by Mr. Broekhuyse).\ The jacket consists of five weaves in linen weave and are woven on a treadle loom with two shafts (3912-313). The sewing was done by hand with the overhand and hem stitch. After this the fabric was dyed. According to information from Mr. Broekhuyse, the jacket was dyed with black earth. Before the neck opening was cut out, the square filling piece was placed on the right side of the jacket. The curve of the opening was stitched through the two layers of fabric. The opening is cut with a narrow seam and the facing is folded to the back, where it is sewn on the fabric without turning the hem inwards.
