This Tacuate huipil from Santa Maria Zacatepec was purchased by Bodil Christensen in 1966. It is made of white hand-spun cotton. The four strips are woven in linen weave and joined together with multicolored 'randa' work. The front and back are decorated with geometric patterns (red, blue, green, orange, purple, pink) under the neck opening. The neckline is circular and finished with dark purple 'blanket' stitching. The arm openings are also finished in the same way. \Motifs [for illustration] Geo-Di-B-3 (diamond motif);Geo-Di-D-1 (diamond motif combination);Geo-O-A-6 (geometric combination);Geo-O-A-8 (geometric combination);Geo-O-C-2 (geometric combination);Geo-St-A-5 (star motif);Geo-St-A-6 (star motif);Geo-St-A-9 (star motif combination); Geo-O-D-1 (geometric combination)
