An incomplete Medieval lead alloy bell, possibly from a pilgrim souvenir. The bell is incomplete so far as the integral suspension loop is now broken. It is trapezoidal in shape and oblong in section. It is difficult to tell from the drawing whether this object has been squashed. At the bottom, to the underside it is possible to say that there perhaps may have been four slits, forming an open cross where there would have been a pea or clapper inside. This section looks like it has suffered some damage. There may be some evidence of some form of decoration on the upper surface a raised ringed/circular pattern. It measures 15 mm.See Spencer; 1990a, no.39.
