An incomplete Roman copper-alloy military type buckle frame. It is incomplete in so far as the pin, part of the lower half of the frame and the pin bar are missing. It measures 42mm.What remains of the buckle is a D-shaped frame, oval in section. There are two circular opposing openings. On this D- section of the frame there is a break at the bottom right. Extending outwards from the openings are two small knops with rounded ends. To the right-hand side of the frame protrudes the remains of part of the lower half of the frame. From the drawing, decoration can be made out on the upper surface, it appears to be circular dots/punch marks with triangular cut marks running around the outside edge of the D- shaped section. The finder remarks that it was found in two pieces several years and some distance apart.
