'U' shaped arm from a cast copper-alloy medieval 'locking buckle'. The arm would have attached to the pin bar. The arm is oval in cross-section at the bend and then tapers to a circular sectioned shank. The terminal has a solid bulbous knop.Such buckles are well attested in the literature; recent published examples can be found illustrated in Egan (2005, 37-38; refs. 116, 117), which includes a reconstruction drawing.
