MEDIEVAL SEAL MATRIX

Small and simple, single loop, inscription illegible. The drawing shows a seal matrix with a conical handle ending in a simple circular loop. The circular die is engraved with a central motif of three letters under an angled contraction mark, with a cross above that also serves as the initial mark of the inscription. The inscription apparently has no borders, and cannot be read from the drawing. The three central letters are apparently IIC, but this may be an error for IhC. Whether this error was on the original matrix or is an error on the part of the illustrator is not known. 14th century.
