Copper alloy Token. Dutch milled token of three stuivers value issued by the City of Groningen, to enable Council members to obtain beer and wine at the Rathskeller. This information was kindly provided by the finder drawing on UKDFD ref. no. 28597; dated 1590.Obverse description: Double headed Imperial eagle, star left and circle right; letter G between eagle heads; the eagle is spread over an heraldic shield flanked by the date: 15 90.Reverse description: Plain, traces of a square motif comprising an uncertain number of pellets, possibly three on each side.Diameter: 23.9mm, Weight: 3.80gms.
