Part of a copper alloy unidentified object, possibly from harness, with a spatulate terminal projecting from a featureless stylised animal head with a hoop of sub-triangular to D-shaped section, flattened on the inside surface, with an ancient break. Similar objects have been recorded from Lincolnshire, Suffolk and Sussex, and one is illustrated in The Searcher January 2003, 21 (see also ibid. April 2004, 18). The drawing of a similar fragment from Brooke (HER 40522) can be seen in Norfolk Archaeol. 44 (2005), fig.8 A. 11th century.
