Face of a woman who died from carbolic acid poisoning

Watercolour drawing of the face of a young woman aged 22, who died from poisoning by carbolic acid. The lips and chin, together with the mucous membrane of the Mouth, are stained and charred from the action of the acid. She lived for three hours after taking the poison.
