Deeply fissured tongue

Watercolour drawing of a tongue, the edges of which, on both sides, are deeply fissured. From a young man, aged 20, who attended in the Surgical Out-patient Department. He denied having suffered from syphilis, and no sufficient cause for the condition was discovered. He quickly improved under simple treatment.
