Pencil and ink drawing of an angiogram obtained after a close relative suffered a brain (cerebral) aneurysm. The image depicts the size and position of the aneurysm, memory loss, the feeling that the patient was drifting away, and the readings from the life support machine. Aneurysms can occur when the wall of a blood vessel (such as an artery) is weakened resulting in localised swelling or bulging of the vessel. Angiogram is an invasive diagnostic test which uses radiography to visualise the blood vessels.
