Dental ulcer on the tongue

Watercolour drawing of the tongue of an old man, showing an indolent traumatic ulcer on the border, due to the rubbing of a tooth. The base of the sore was indurated, so that it was feared it might be cancerous, but it disappeared within a few days of the removal of the tooth.
