Greatly distorted hand

Watercolour drawing of the right hand and forearm of an old woman. The whole hand is greatly distorted, the fingers are swollen and contracted onto the palm and the nails are long and twisted. The muscles of the forearm are greatly wasted. From a woman aged 52, but who appeared much older. She had suffered from rheumatic arthritis, which entirely disabled her right hand. It had not been washed for three years.
