Excavated 1900 north of the Central Court, KnossosGillieron's reconstruction gives the impression of a fairly complete painting but, in fact, none of the fragments was found in situ, and practically no original fragments join together, as can be discerned from this careful reproduction. Consequently, there is no certainty as to the original composition, its height, length, or whether it was part of a panel or a frieze. The blue sky and olive trees indicate an outdoor setting. The lines of stones likely represent walkways, similar to those in the West Court of the palace at Knossos that lead to the theatral area. The original is in the Archaeological Museum of Herakleion, Crete.
