Ira Blount · late 20th-early 21st Century
Local artist Ira Blount designed this beadwork strap in a repeating pattern of rectangles, geometric shapes, and stripes in alternating red and green seed beads. When viewed from a distance, the central design resembles a diamond with small green embellishments in each corner. When viewed up close, the diamond shape becomes a cross. The elongated strap demonstrates how perspective shapes a work of art.
