Colorful Beaded Necklace

Multicolored stripes and diamonds alternate in this symmetrical beaded necklace made by artist Ira Blount (1918-2020). Parallel rows of seed beads begin narrow at the clasp, then widen and ultimately merge. The geometric designs materialize from blue, green, yellow, red, white glass beads, which also form a fringe at the flat necklace’s apex.
