The rim and handle of this basket are made of intertwined twigs. The artist intentionally leaves a section of twig jutting down from the basket’s body to draw the viewer’s attention to his materials’ organic forms. The plain weave structure accommodates the curves and variations in the twigs, creating a natural feel. A purple, vertical stripe made of dyed reeds adorns the middle of the otherwise undyed basket.
