Wood Box with Parquet Lid

Made by artist Ira Blount (1918-2020), the lid of this rectangular wooden box features a parquet pattern achieved by alternating varying lengths of dark and light wood into an inlaid, geometric design. A handle attached to the top allows the lid to be easily removed from the box below. The edges of the box are rounded, and it is finished with a semi-gloss coating.
