Ira Blount · 2003
Ordinary objects can also be works of art, like this footstool made by Ira Blount (1918-2020). Its white woven top carries out a nautical theme as well as a numerical one. Quartets of cord woven into a pattern stretch taut across four dowels joined to four square posts of white oak. Below, four beech rungs also support the footstool’s rectangular frame.
