Artist Ira Blount (1918-2020) carved this wooden spoon by hand. The two strands of its handle wind around each other four times, revealing a small hole between each twist. The rounded top mirrors the spoon’s oval scoop at the bottom, and a shiny coating highlights the natural grain of the wood. The slim utensil illustrates Blount’s interest in transforming everyday objects into works of art.
