<I>Bouquet holder, rose motif with yellow stones</I>

Gilded metal bouquet holder with looped handle. The openwork vase features a design of large rose blossoms that are fully opened along with leaves with stippled texture on the surface. Three large yellow stones are situated around the top of the vase with rope settings. Two acanthus leaves form the stem of the handle into a cornucopia laden with grapes, which connects to a large oblong ring. The ring is comprised of a large ‘C’ scroll joined by an acanthus leaf and was stamped in two parts. Attached to the loop is short length of chain connected to ring. The ring would allow the bouquet holder to be worn from the finger or on a chatelaine at the waist to free the lady's hands while dancing.
