<I>Bouquet holder, flower motif, cornucopia</I>

Small cornucopia-shaped bouquet holder of gilded brass. The vase is comprised of six repeats of a flower and leaf pattern with a textured surface of incised lines. The rim of the vase is encircled with an undulating ribbon of stamped gilded brass. Within the vase are remnants of four prongs that would have secured the bouquet inside the holder. The neck, which connects the vase to the handle, is adorned with a pair of stamped thistles. The handle was formed from a single sheet of brass stamped with a hexagon pattern. The handle tapers and curls upward forming a loop that is completed by an acorn. A ring, which connects a round-link chain and foliate finger ring, is attached to the looped portion of the handle. The finger ring would allow the bouquet holder to be worn from the finger or on a chatelaine at the waist to free the lady's hands while dancing.
