<I>Bouquet holder, grape & leaf motif, curlicue handle</I>

Copper bouquet holder with curved handle. The funnel-shaped vase has a pierced design featuring leaves and grapes on spiraled vines. A looped clip attached to the lip of the vase allowed the holder to be attached to garments. The neck is a pierced sphere, which connects the vase to the curved handle. The handle has scroll and foliate forms and ends in curl. A short length of chain connected to a ring is attached to the side of the handle. The ring would allow the bouquet holder to be worn from the finger or on a chatelaine at the waist to free the lady's hands while dancing.
