The crescent flower frame was not a particularly symbolic arrangement in itself; however, it was frequently sent to the family as a floral tribute to the deceased. This frame is commonly combined with a star or pendulum. Whether carrying a deeper meaning or not, floral tributes were always symbolic of respect for the deceased and sympathy for the mourners.
