<I>Bouquet holder, engraved medallions</I>

This engraved silver bouquet holder has a hexagonal shaped vase. The peaked sides point inwards at the opening. The panels have alternating designs of scrolling arabesques and stylized geometric floral designs. The handle and vase portion meet at a rounded form, which a chain and ring extend from. This ring could be worn on the finger or used to attach the bouquet holder to a chatelaine about the waist. Additionally, a chain connected to a pin is attached to the holder which would have been used to pierce the stems of the bouquet and secure them in the vase. The straight five-sided handle is unadorned. It is tipped with metal work that culminates in a cone and capped with a silver bead.
