An unidentified Rural Free Delivery carrier posed in his wagon with an unidentified couple in Meade County, South Dakota. While rural carriers were not required to wear uniforms, they occasionally purchased city carrier uniform items for a more official look. The wagon is almost overloaded with mail and packages, enough weight that the carrier needed more than a pair of horses to pull it that day.
