According to the caption on the back of the photograph, rural carrier Roy Aler of Harbor Springs, Michigan, stands next to his 1926 Model-T that is fitted with a steel track on the rear drive shaft, enabling him to drop either wheels or skis into place in front, depending on weather conditions.
