This object with its elaborate cachet of George Washington, Christopher Columbus and the federal eagle clutching the U.S. flag was not original to the third official set of twelve domestic-size postal cards that are part of the accession. According to a 31 July 1937 article by David H. Burr in STAMPS magazine ("Columbian Exposition Postal Cards"), no wrapper was known to exist for the twelve-card set. An inscription shows that it was for the earlier official ten-card set.
