c. 1953
B-T Company, Inc., of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, manufactured this Mite postal scale. Ribs on the plate allow for ease of use and ensure that round objects remain on the plate. Postal clerks used the scale to weigh letters, books and catalogs, merchandise, and airmail to determine the postage needed. The rates appearing on this scale went into effect on October 1, 1953.
