Two-slot stamp vending machine with a push lever

The Postage Stamp Machine Company manufactured this vending machine with U.S. patent number 2,444,747, issued on July 6, 1948. The heavy metal base stabilized the rectangular-shaped device on a counter-top. A key on the front of the case gives access to the machinery and for restocking stamps. The machine’s white-colored front has two coin slots marked “10c.” The windows hold labels to specify the quantity of postage for sale. Two corresponding stamp slots are located farther down the front, between which the 'push' lever is situated. The slot in the center served as a coin return. Given the lowest stamp denomination printed next to the two coin slots is the 10-cent, the machine appears to date to the mid-1970s.
