Block of four 5-cent Jefferson Davis, printed by Hoyer & Ludwig, Richmond, Virginia, with printing stones two and three. The design is the same for the 5-cent green printings with portrait of Jefferson Davis, engraved by Charles Ludwig. This is a stone 2 printing, characterized by rough, coarse impressions. Stone 3 impressions are generally clear and sharp. "POD" [Post Office Department] stamped on back.
