Patch with horse and rider emblem on a maroon field

1956 - 1965

Embroidered emblem patch for application on the left sleeves of uniform shirts and jackets features the Post Office Department's horse and rider seal in white on a maroon background with a maroon border. This wool felt version was intended for use on coats and jackets. As of February 1965, the left-facing horse and rider figurative in a blue field replaced this 1956-1965 patch with a right-facing design on a maroon field.
