Owney received this tag in March 1897. On one side the name P.J. Perez is scratched in by hand, along with the location, San Francisco, California, Mission Street RPO (Railway Post Office). On the other side are printed the names J. S. Hopkins, F. J. Goslee and Evans & Pad. By 1897, Owney was quite an old dog and often ill. This tag represents his last visit to California.
