Owney received this hotel key check token from the Hotel Ruhl in Jackson, Michigan. The five-story Ruhl Hotel stood out among other buildings in late-nineteen-century Jackson. The hotel was owned by Charles Ruhl, a German-born immigrant, and stood not far from the Michigan Central Railroad station. Today this train station serves Amtrak passengers.
