This Civil War Union patriotic stationery has bullseye cancel mark on a three-cent George Washington stamp placed on its side in the lower left corner. The cover was postmarked, “Indi[anapolis], Oct 2, 1862, Ind.” and was addressed, It is addressed “Rachel J Walters, Star City PO, Ind.” A red and blue printed seal of the United States dominates the left half of the envelope and is surrounded by abbreviations for thirty-four states. This envelope matches to letter 1991.0291.6.
