Owney received this hotel key check token while visiting the Saulpaugh Hotel (also called the Grand Saulpaugh Hotel) in Mankato, Minnesota. There is no indication on the tag when Owney visited the large, four-story luxury hotel, or how he arrived in town. Mankato hosted a number of railway lines, including the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul; the Chicago & Northwestern; and the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha.
