Owney, American, c. 1888 - 1897 · 1888-1897
Owney received this watch fob token from the Caldwell & McGregor jewelry store in Pontiac, Illinois. Although there is no information to indicate when the token was presented to the dog, James Caldwell retired and dissolved the partnership in 1895. Pontiac was easily reached by numerous railways, including the Wabash, the Chicago & Alton; and the Illinois Central railway lines.
