The engraving department's (?) design record for the 50-cent stamp of King Lunalilo. A preliminary design of the frame has been sketched in the upper left. A proof of the 25 centavos Argentine Republic stamp -- "the design preferred for this [Hawaiian] stamp" has been affixed below the sketch.
