This ledger book covered in yellow fabric was used to track registered mail numbers and impressions of daily cancellations at the Church Street Station post office, New York, New York. The first entry in this ledger is May 3, 2001, and the last is September 10, 2001. The Church Street Station post office was open for business on the morning of September 11, 2001. Employees and customers were ordered to leave the building following the attacks on the nearby World Trade Center.
